CALL FOR PAPERS - Deadline for submissions (2nd call): 30th August 2010
* Conference background and goals
SLACTIONS 2010 provides an international forum for presentation and discussion of research on most areas currently enabled by metaverse platforms.
* Format of the Conference
SLACTIONS is an international conference with a unique hybrid format held simultaneously in a virtual world (Second Life) and at physical locations in countries around the world on the topic of metaverse platforms. All paper presentations and plenary sessions by guest speakers will be held on-line in the Second Life virtual world, but also projected locally for participants that attend the physical Local Chapters. Participants can also follow the proceedings broadcast on Wimba classroom and have the opportunity to ask questions through this platform as well as through SL.
Pre-Conference and Post-conference electronic forums will be held so that session paper abstracts (or full papers) can be read before the conference, and authors can interact during one week before and after the conference. Podcasts, slideshows and links to research websites are also welcome and encouraged.
Contributors of full and short papers are also encouraged to show a poster outlining their paper and time of presentation before and during the conference on the MBS island.

Google Support Actualy Works

So today I had a MAJOR bug in my web site. I could not see it. Luckily, I have Google support (yes I actually pay for it). After a quick review of the Google apps manage web site, I found my PIN code, and the 800 telephone. I called.

After 2 min, I got the voice of Carmen (probably from Ireland). She was very nice... and after few asking for few details.. asked for my problem.

I explained that my site has stopped working... when I tested it with her.. it came back alive (must have been a small DNS issue).

So what is my point: First, cloud services does not mean free, it does make sense to pay for service... and Google service in this case works. :-) good day for computer-land.
